On appelle lune tout satellite naturel d'une planète, mais la Lune, avec un L majuscule, désigne le seul satellite naturel de la Terre. Par sa visibilité et ses excentricités, la Lune a toujours constitué un sujet d'intérêt pour les humains. Avec la Terre, elle est, à ce jour, le seul astre que l'Homme a pu explorer en personne.
